It has been about one week since I got my Windows Live OneCare working on my laptop. My experience is not too bad except from the absurd installation thing I had to put up with. It automatically runs in the background and is very generous when it come to using RAM. It will also do updates, tune - ups such as scans and remove unnecessary files, etc.
One thing that I find really annoying is that there is always a little balloon that pops up even it OneCare has let a program to access the Internet. For example, OneCare has allowed itunes to access the Internet. But what I really want to see is when OneCare has blocked something.
But apart from that annoying glitch the program is pretty good. But I can only say this if you are running Windows Vista. As I have not tested OneCare with my XP machine and probably I never will. But I recommend that if you want to play safe with XP then get a more heavier security suite, but again, it depends on what and how you are using the Internet. For basic users OneCare is quite good.
Stay tuned for my Security and Anti virus comparison in the next weeks.
